Truncation artefact correction in hybrid PET/MRI imaging. The FOV in MR imaging is limited, leading to signal truncations in the MR-based attenuation map (A, arrows along the arms). These signal truncations cause an attenuation bias during attenuation correction (under-correction). The HUGE technique increases the FOV in MR imaging eliminating these artefacts (B, arrows). The fusion of truncated attenuation map (A) and the HUGE images (B) shows this effect (C)
