Table 1 Evaluation of the response to the RAI ablation therapy (Eisenhauer et al., 2009)

From: Can 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography predict the response to radioactive iodine therapy in metastatic differentiated thyroid carcinoma?

Response

Definition

Non-progressive disease (Non-PD)

Complete response (CR)

Disappearance of all target and nontarget lesions with reduction of lymph node short axis to less than 1Ā cm and serum Tg undetectable both during suppression and after TSH stimulation

Partial response (PR)

Decrease of 30% or more in the sum of diameters of target lesions, taking as a reference the baseline sum diameter

Stable disease (SD)

Neither sufficient shrinkage to qualify for PR nor sufficient increase to qualify for PD or non-PD or non-CR for nontarget disease

Progressive disease (PD)

At least a 20% increase in the sum of diameters of target lesions taking as a reference the smallest sum on the study and an increase of at least 5Ā mm or appearance of one or more new lesions
