Table 1 Evaluation of the response to the RAI ablation therapy (Eisenhauer et al., 2009)

From: Can 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography predict the response to radioactive iodine therapy in metastatic differentiated thyroid carcinoma?

Response Definition
Non-progressive disease (Non-PD) Complete response (CR) Disappearance of all target and nontarget lesions with reduction of lymph node short axis to less than 1 cm and serum Tg undetectable both during suppression and after TSH stimulation
Partial response (PR) Decrease of 30% or more in the sum of diameters of target lesions, taking as a reference the baseline sum diameter
Stable disease (SD) Neither sufficient shrinkage to qualify for PR nor sufficient increase to qualify for PD or non-PD or non-CR for nontarget disease
Progressive disease (PD) At least a 20% increase in the sum of diameters of target lesions taking as a reference the smallest sum on the study and an increase of at least 5 mm or appearance of one or more new lesions
